Kyoko, abandoned by her mother as a child, travels to her hometown Kojima to see her dying mother, who lies unconscious with terminal cancer. Unable to remember her mother’s face and unwilling to see her, Kyoko hesitates. At the urging of Todo, a former detective, she visits the woman who once cared for her. As she rides through the town, fragments of her childhood memories return, stirring complex emotions about her mother’s love and her own pain. Confronted with her past, will she finally decide to go see her mother?

Born in Kojima, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture on April 5, 1970
Working as a hairdresser, he has been making films entirely on location in Kojima, where he was born and raised.
Furthermore, in an effort to transform his hometown into a film town, he organizes the KOJIMA Film Festival.
