Young-ho, a Korean resident in Japan, decided to close the pachinko parlor he had run with his mother Kyong-ja for 50 years in a small town along Route 7 in Akita Prefecture. He travels on National Route 7 to reconnect his divided family.
He is a third-generation Zainichi Korean (Korean resident in Japan). He studied film directing at the Korea National University of Arts.
He makes films on the themes of border person and Japan-Korea relations.
