The
Making of
Born in 1995 in Atsugi, Kanagawa, Hiroki Yagi spent his childhood moving frequently due to his parents’ work. He lived in Tennessee, USA (1999–2005), Hiroshima (2005–2009), Kitakyushu, Fukuoka (2009–2012), and Saitama (2012–).
He graduated from the Faculty of Media Studies at Josai International University in 2018. While in university, he began making independent films, taking on the roles of writer, director, and editor.
After graduation, he has worked as a freelance assistant director under filmmakers such as Shinsuke Sato and Yu Irie. Alongside his work in commercial film productions, he continues to develop and direct his own independent projects.
