The film is set in Miyako City, Iwate Prefecture. At Club Counter Action Miyako, an owner and staff who run the venue almost as a “labor of love” continue to ask themselves why they keep it going. In a town that once had no live house, what have young people begun to sing now that they finally have a place to belong? As these small beginnings connect one generation to the next, that once “beautiful goal” may at last begin to reveal itself as a starting point. This is neither an idealized tale nor a dramatized story, but a portrait of the present-day reality of regional life—something that could be found in small towns anywhere in Japan.
