Summary
In 1983, at the All-Japan High School Rubber Baseball Tournament, after a series of extra-inning games, the team's ace pitcher, Fumitaka Takahagi, pitched 58 and 1/3 innings and threw 736 pitches alone over four days, reaching the finals. Although they lost the game, their achievement of becoming national runners-up gave great hope to the local people. Yumi Ryuzaki, the Rubber Baseball team's equipment manager at the time, would learn a shocking truth 30 years later. She would discover that Takahagi and other heroes from her youth had endured unimaginable hardship after the Great East Japan Earthquake. Yumi then takes action... Based on the true story of the equipment manager who made "giving children dreams and aspirations for their future" her life's work, this film adaptation centers on the theme that "everyone is a hero to someone," connecting hope for the future.
